THE JAPANESE SOCIETY OF
PEDIATRIC DENTISTRY

Welcome Message

Dear Friends,

On behalf of the president of the 53rd Annual Conference of the Japanese Society of Pediatric Dentistry, I would like to cordially invite all of you to the congress to be held on May 21st-22nd, 2015, in Hiroshima, Japan. The conference will be held at the International Conference Center Hiroshima. The venue is located at the corner of Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park with the Atomic Bomb Dome, which will observe its 70th anniversary. It is very significant to hold this conference at the center as a symbol of peace. The theme of the conference will be “Creating a brilliant future for children”. In Japan's aging society with its falling birth rate, it is important what we do now in order to secure a bright future for children.
Pediatric dentistry or pediatric dental clinical contents have also markedly changed from mostly childhood caries to periodontal disease, oral trauma, teeth number anomalies, developmental disabilities, and abuse. We are required to view patients in a comprehensive manner: “from oral cavity to systemic” and “from systemic to oral cavity”.
I hope that members and attendees of this conference will consider and discuss the theme: “Creating a brilliant future for children”.

I hope that you will participate in the conference and give presentations.
We look forward to meeting and working with all of you here in Hiroshima, for “Creating a brilliant future for children”.

Sincerely yours,

Katsuyuki Kozai
President of the 53rd Annual Conference of the Japanese Society of Pediatric Dentistry
Professor of Department of Pediatric Dentistry, Institute of Biomedical & Health Sciences, Hiroshima University

Guidelines for Preparing the Abstract

  1. An abstract collection will be compiled in the modified A4 format, assigning one page to each speech subject. Information must be entered within the predefined space. With reference to the downloaded template, type letters in two columns, each comprising 37 lines of 37 letters, using the font type Century and font sizes of 11 points (for the title), 10.5 points (for the author/organization names) and 9 points (for the main text).
  2. In the abstract, specify the speech subject, the names of all authors (of whom the presenter should be marked with a circle), their organizations, the objective, targets, methods, results, discussion, conclusion and bibliography in this order without omission. Note that if there is any omission regarding the results, etc., the abstract will be rejected. Only abstracts written in English are acceptable.
  3. Make one blank line each between the speech subject and the author names and between the organizations and the main text.
  4. Any author whose organization differs from that of the principal author should be marked with an asterisk (*) on the right shoulder of his/her name, with his/her organization name marked with * on its left shoulder, for differentiation. For authors belonging to more than two organizations, use asterisks incrementally to indicate their secondary and subordinate organizations (e.g., * for the secondary, ** for the tertiary, and so forth).
  5. Monochrome charts, photographs, etc. can be inserted in the abstract. Take care of their sizes, because the abstracts submitted will be processed in full proportion into the abstract collection.
